60 today.....

Well, I can't tell you how thrilled Roy was when I showed him the special section on the Michael Mayhem thread on the forum!  Ever since Doris and Chris started doing these he's always having a look and I've had to print them off for him.  I think the birthday ones will end up in a frame!!!

Let me explain a bit more about the Morris Minor.  Roy bought it about 25 years ago and with the help of our two young lads restored it.  I didn't take my driving test until quite a few years later and when I passed (2nd time) I enjoyed the compact little car while Roy was then driving his much loved Ford Capri. 

Second respray changed it from dark blue to off-white and now the third, and biggest restoration, leaves it a beautiful turquoise blue.  Roy was hoping to have it all finished last year (for the MM 60th Anniversary) but too many other things happening in our lives meant he had to aim for his own 60th instead!  More delays means that he's not quite there yet, but everything is crossed that he's finished by Saturday for the MOT that he's booked.  He's booked a weeks holiday and was out in the garage before 6am this morning.  I'll let you know the outcome and show you the finished product.  Gosh it's difficult typing with your fingers crossed!!!

Oh well, guess I'd better go and make him his 3rd (or is it 4th?) mug of tea.....
