We could hardly believe that the day would ever come  - that Michael would be bidding farewell to Edna after nearly four years, but the day finally dawned on April 30 at the Bristol Hippodrome.  Edna had become such a big part of the fans lives - so much had happened during the time Michael had been in Hairspray.

We decided to travel to Bristol the day before, leaving home immediately after the royal wedding which was a good move as the roads were very quiet and we were there in next to no time.  We decided to see Hairspray on Friday night as well as both Saturday performances and had a lovely time that night with Michael's dad, Tony and his family.

Saturday's matinee was full of fun and tricks, not the least of which was Michael wearing a "Tracy" wig when he bursts out of Mr Pinky's hideaway during "Welcome to the Sixties".  The evening performance was perfect and extremely emotional as Michael made his goodbye speech at the end of the show.  It's hard to believe this really is the last we will see of Edna, but there are many exciting and interesting things coming up to take our minds of it!

The Heroes tour starts in three week's time in Dublin and continues through June, and then it will be full steam ahead for Sweeney Todd at Chichester.  Fun times ahead!
