Since the tour it seems that Michael has still been his usual busy self.  Sunday Brunch has been back on Sunday mornings for the past few weeks, and the final one for the time being will be heard this coming Sunday, 4 September.  Michael has such a lovely broadcasting style and that, coupled with great music and brilliant guests, makes for a good way to spend a couple of hours on Sunday mornings.

We went to visit Michael in the BBC studios a couple of weeks ago to catch up with him and to get some cards and photos signed for fans.  The day we went he had just had his hair cut and was making lots of comments about it during his show.

We couldn't resist taking a photo and Michael was happy to pose for the shot above.  We somehow think the hair will change quite considerably by the time Sweeney hits the stage.

Talking of Sweeney, not long to go now until we see the demon barber of Fleet Street emerge from Michael's smiling face!  The journey the fans take with Michael on his career is amazing - from Edna Turbland to Sweeney Todd - who would have thought it?  Sweeney begins at Chichester Festival Theatre on 24 September 24 and you can catch him there until Saturday 5 November.  You can get tickets either online at www.cft.org.uk or from the box office on 01243 781312.

It's always nice to go and visit Michael at the BBC.  The friendly security staff always have a joke with us before sending us on our way to the sixth floor where we are greeted by Andrew.  Michael is usually in the studio when we get there so we sit in the area outside the studios where there are sofas and a table.  This time there was another addition - Elton John's piano!  This is one of Elton's favourite pianos that he had donated to the BBC to use during their live music sessions.  It had a big sign on it saying "Do Not Touch" so of course we heeded that warning and didn't go anywhere near it!

Members of the fan club will be receiving Issue 58 of On The Ball within the next two weeks - it contains lots of stories from the recent tour.  If you want to join the fan club you can do so online at www.mbfc.co.uk.

We'll be back with another blog soon.
